The 1851 English census showed Thomas as a "farm servant" in Sproxton, living in the "Middle of the Village" with the Joseph Glenn family. The 1870 census listed T.H. Bailey as a farmer. Five children were living with them at South Haven P.O.

According to Ruth Steele, they came over in the "New World" with Capt. Thomas Hand and first settled at Grass Lake, Michigan.

Thomas died of "chronic bronchial asthma;" his death certificate identified him as a farmer. (CoRec)
