245. Robert[10] Anderson (John, 303) (A862). Born, 1 Apr 1706 (?), in Ireland?[186]. Died, circa 1762, in prob. Derryfield, NH[186]. Birth(2): 1 Apr 1716, in (copy of records)[186].

Parker's Londonderry (1851): "...lived in that part of Londonderry now Manchester, but left no male issue; his daughters were married, and many of their descendants are now living."

Londonderry Town Records: 7 Jan 1737/8. "The bounds of a piece of land that Robert Anderson bought from the proprietors of Londonderry, Beginning at the nor west corner of James Anderson land which is mend ment land then N:S:W:44: Rhods to a stake and stones bounding on the Comon land then S:[6?]:W:7: Rhods to a stake and stones bounding on the comon land then e:b[?]:N:20: Rhods to a stake standing on the line of James Andersons land bounding on the comon land then n:n:e:90 Rhods bounding on sd Andersons land to the founds f---t."

From a Tyng Township Meeting: At the home of Mr. Samuel Moor Litchfield, 17 June 1741: "Whereas the Saw mill in sd Township is not finished to Saw as was Expected & Convenented for whereby the finishing the meetinghouse under Great Disadvantage & must be much more Expensive to Robert Anderson who is Obliged to finish the Same at or before the last day of June Currant, and that he might not be a Sufferer by Neglect of the finishing of the Sd mill nor Exposed to Imediate prosecution. Therefore that the sd Anderson have Liberty further to delay to finish the Sd House as Covenented for if Compleated At or before the last day of November next."

Londonderry Meeting, March 5, 1742/3, one Robert Anderson was appointed one of the surveyors for the westerly side of Beaver Brook, also in 1743/4. In March 1761, he was chosen one of several Constables, "Sd Anderson payd his fine and Non of the above men that payd their fines wold serve." April 1, "Robert Anderson payd his fine for being Chosen Constable."

Robert held these offices in Derryfield, later Manchester: Constable 3 Sep 1751, 18 Mar 1754 Counter, surveyor of highways "invoice man"; Selectman 10 Mar 1756, 1758 ; doorkeeper, 3 Mar 1760. Town meeting was held in his barn 5 Sep 1754, at 10 in the forenoon. Collectibles for building meeting house 1758, Einsing Robert Anderson £18, 1759 £13, 1760 £13 3s 6d. 6 March 1758 he was on a committee to appraise damages done in fields.

The Diary of Matthew Patton of Bedford, N.H. (1903): Sept 24, 1756- "...went to Robt Andersons and brought away a bull which belonged to my Father in Laws Estate."

From the biography of Gen. Stark: "On Aug. 9, 1757, a one year old black colt, with a white spot on its forehead, the property of James Wallace of Londonderry, and valued at 14 pounds, old tenor, while in the custody of Robert Anderson, in some manner got into the field of Archibald Stark. The court papers show 14 documents. John MacNeil heard Anderson tell Stark he would not pay the damages claimed at the moment he was leading the colt out of the field, namely 11 or 12 pounds, but would pay reasonable damages."
