NJ. Died, 16 Feb 1793, in Burlington, NJ.

From Mullane et al. (1984): "Matthias is the progenitor of the Burlington Co., N.J. families...

On his marriage record, Matthias is referred to as a "husbandman," and Sarah a "spinster." Mullane et al. believed that Matthias and his family migrated into Burlington Co., between 1748 and 1750. "In NJ Calendar of Wills...is the will of Joseph Newbold, 27 Mar 1790, wherin Newbold leaves to his eldest son Charles the plantation where I live, which is bounded by the place where Mathias Swen lives and by Cleaton Newbold's. The will shows Joseph of being of Chesterfield Township, Burlington County..."

He is buried in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery.

He married Sarah Van Roome (215) (A497), 12 May 1738, in Middlesex, NJ.
