Celtic Airs
KRL 2001
Imagine an album of pretty, slow airs. Then, imagine an album of pretty slow airs. Celtic Airs is the latter. KLR has taken change of pace tracks from a wide selection of their Scottish releases and put them on to one disc with an orange sunset on the cover. Further, all the tracks are originals, not traditional airs, and most are contemporary arrangements backed by keyboard and synthesizer for a great stab at the hearts of the mystical segment of the Adult Contemporary crowd. Even Chris Armstrong on pipes is mushed down once the keyboards chime in, though the wonderful fiddling of Old Blind Dogs' Jonny Hardie shines through on "Margaret Crommar."
