The 1820 census gave 1 male and 1 female less than 10, 2 females 10-16, 1 male and 3 females 16-26, and one female over 45 living with Archibald (male over 45). Two persons were engaged in agriculture.

A Preble Co. Hist. says that they emigrated to Preble Co. from New Hampshire in 1812 and settled on a farm later owned by Henry Swisher.

Gilbert (1989) in "Preble's Pride" 3:3-7: In 1822, the younger Stark children, Archibald, Nancy, Eleanor, and Harriet attended B. Fisher's School House in Jackson Twp. August 20, 1824, ----, Elizabeth, and Archibald were listed. For Fisher's New School House in Washington Twp., Aug 8, 1831, Archibald was listed. These names were recorded by a Mr. Sheets, who taught these students from 1808 until 1850 and listed his schools and students on an 11 foot roll of paper.
